Most of the mechanistic work on Semax concerns brain-derived neurotrophic factor — a protein involved in the survival, growth and maintenance of neurons — and related neuromodulatory signaling. Animal and laboratory studies have looked at how the peptide influences BDNF expression, and that is the finding usually cited.
A pathway is not a result. Saying a compound is studied around BDNF expression describes what researchers measured in a model; it says nothing about how any particular person will feel, think or perform. We are not going to bridge that gap with adjectives, and any page that does should be read with suspicion.
